I bought a 7" emperor from someones tank and recently put him in my brand new 300 gallon as my first fish. About 2 days later I added a 7" blue hippo and ever since he has been terrorizing my hippo. Doesnt even let him sleep at night.
I bought the emperor from someones tank and he was in a tank half of the size as mine and had about 5 fish in there with him including a hippo. Could he have really got that territorial that fast being alone in the 300 by himself?
I have been feeding him a lotttt to try to tone his aggression down but even after about 3 days he still chases the tang down.
Any ideas? I was thinking about building a fish trap and putting him in sump for awhile then adding him again later on. You think this would not make him territorial anymore? Or since he has been in the tank already he is familiar with it and will always be territorial in it.
Im not so worried about my 7" hippos as I am with the 2" clowns, 2" yellow tangs, dwarf angels, etc that I will be adding later on....
If I made him the last fish you think he would cope?
