New 10g Reef Tank!

hey im new to this hobby and about a month ago i started my own tank. In this one month a ton of stuff has happened both good and bad and has been crazy.

First i set up the tank and i was happy with its look and status...

but then i wasnt happy with the health of the tank due to the tiles and all the stuff they captured so i got some live sand imported from fiji from a friend and didnt clean it as well as i should have and well...

so after that whole fiasco i did a bunch of water changes and last resort moves to keep my livestock and animals alive and then just put everything back in the tank and let it sit for about 2 weeks just so things would calm down...

but of course things are never that easy with me....

these 2 GBTA gave me hell

And now that i got rid of that situation i figured for new years i should start my timer on a HEALTHY and permanent setup for my tank and so i rescaped it, changed the water, got some new T5HO bulbs, and made accounts for this forum and Nanoreef to document it all haha and so with this being my first post on this site heres my current FTS as of like minutes ago

And why did you decide to use frag tiles for the bottom?

Its been up for about 3 weeks now however i kinda had a head start sand had good bacteria already and the rocks had just came from a healthy tank so things have been moving quickly

I used them simply cuz i thought it looked sick, no one on the internet or anywhere had something that looked like that so i gave it a whirl...if i had sealed the tiles off like i should have i would have kept them for good i thought it was a cool idea...

You seem to really be rushing things. Even with cured live rocks, it takes weeks/months for a tank to fully establish itself. The tank is much to small to house one BTA, let alone two. They have the potential to get up to a foot across. And, as you now know, they tend to wander, especially when stressed, which is more than likely why they ended up shredded in the powerhead. Tanks should ideally be at least 6 months old before adding an anemone. (for future reference should you set up a larger tank)

Not trying to be harsh, just stating some facts. ;)
