Potassium is much like sodium or magnesium, in that it is a biologically needed chemical. In salt water it is usually in enough abundance that it's treated like sodium, just kinda ignored, although important, and isn't really consumed the way calcium/magnesium are.

How much are you wanting to raise your potassium, and what are you at now? Sea water is around 390ppm -ish potasium. Sulfate is around 2.7 ppT. The potasium sulfate wouldn't drastically change your sulfate level unless you were going overboard with potassium.
