How long do leopard wrasses bury themselves in the sand when newly added. I added mine on the 31st and still have not seen him out. He is right now in my well established biocube so I can make sure he is eating before I transfer him to my 250.

I'm no expert, but I do have a few leopard wrasses. It can be a week....
Don't despair!

Or more. Don't go digging for it. Good luck.

I saw him poking his head out yesterday and little while later he started to swim in circles and laid on his side. I assume he is doing the dreded death dance, am I right? I checked for his this morning and did not find him anywhere, hope he burried himself in the sand.
I am not going to dig him out.

:( these fish would do so much better if wholesalers would ship them with sand. the shock of the trip ruins them. i got my male from a local member.

I found him dead when I came home. HE in a bare bottom tank in the LFS, I though I would give him a try.

Then the LFS demonstrated gross malfeasance. Not only will a leopard damage its mouth trying to dive into nonexistent sand but the stress level in the fish had to be extraordinary.

I got my leopard wrasse from my LFS. If you ask your LFS to order some leopard wrasses ask them to specify to the wholesalers to put sand in the bags. They should be more than happy. Thats how I got mine!
