I recently tried to add a ywg to my tank. I think it died but Im not sure.

This is the 3rd goby I have tried to add to my tank. The first 2 where very small and just kind of dissappeared.

However this one was a decent size, 3".

I dont think it was my acclimation process as I acclimated a gold rim tang at the same time and he is doing fine.

Any ideas why I cant seem to keep yellow watchman gobies in my tank?

I had a hitch hiker xanthid crab that killed two of my gobies and ate them. for the longest time it just ate snails, but the larger it got, yup...fish. Have you noticed a decline in your clean up crew at all? Empty shells laying around? Check your cracks and crevices at night.

The culprit in my case:

I shouldnt have any suprises in my tank. It was made of all dry rock expect a single peice that wouldnt have had room for any nasties. Maybe I will try a glass and some shrimp tonight, just incase.

If you tank is not covered good, check behind it for crispy critterrs. Gobies can be jumpers.
