Do you have them? Could you be a little more descriptive?

Yes anyone have these installed currently and how many do you recommend as far as ratio to the reg blue, royal blue and the cool whites? As I said I have a few red over 8 foort planned but have others if I do not like them. Also what bout the green ones I have seen anyone using them and if so how many?

I *think* this was discussed in the big LED thread. It covered the spectrums delivered by specific LEDs, spectrums preferred to promote growth in corals, and which LEDs overlapped. I wish I could be of more help than pointing to the big thread, but I think that's where the answers are...

Yes I have them installed in my tank. I used them to complete the full color spectrum. I have them mixed with blue LEDs and like what I see.

The full specs of the LEDs can be found on the nanotuners website.

As far as seeing any effects adding 12 to a 100 + LED system..... you wont even notice them IMHO

Just to nit pick but the Nano-tuners UV LEDs are just under 2w at 500ma (just goes to show that people need to stop thinking about simple wattage with LEDs). I've seen some 420nm LEDs listed as 1w LEDs that appear very similar in all respects other than they don't give a current rating (other than extrapolating it from the wattage and vf). I wonder if they are the same?

Satisled/satistronics sell some "405nm" UV LEDs including some that are closer to a true "3w" rating (750ma with a 3.6 vf) as well as 10w and 20w LEDs.

Any thoughts on how the 405nm would compare to the 420nm? From looking at halide spectrums it seems that many 10k bulbs have a big spike right around 405nm.

many 10k bulbs have a big spike right around 405nm.

I think I was mistaken on this going back and looking, it is T5 bulbs that tend to have a peak around 405nm.
