Hi everyone,
I had an almost disaster in my tank over christmas when the tank was left alone when i was out of town. My HOB protein skimmer got clogged and started to slowly empty the tank. I ended up losing 3-4 gallons (29ga tank) of water in the couple days I was gone.

I have since returned, fixed the filter, and did some nice sized water changes. The problem is that i have a birdsnest near the top of the tank whose top 1in or so of branches ended up out of the water, and died. (completely white). Should i trim of these dead sections or just leave it be? which one will allow it to regrow faster?

Thank you.

I would trim them off. The coral may eventually grow back over the dead sections, but I believe it will grow back faster if you prune off the dead sections.

I'd trim it, too. It'll likely look better in the end, IMO. I think the coral likely will grow equally quickly with or without the trimming.
