Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum as well as hobby. I've been doing a lot of research and decided to start a tank of my own. I have: a 10g tank, koralia 240 powerhead, 50w heater. I also have testing equipment. Right now I'm am cycling my tank with everything installed and powered up. I purchased 3 lbs of live rock and 20 lbs of live sand with premade saltwater from a good LFS. The only thing I need at the moment is lighting! Does anybody have any suggestions on what I could use? Right now I'm doing FOWLR and once I get experienced maybe some small corals. Here are 3 lights I've been looking at...

the tank is very small at 10 gallon so the bottom link you showed at 72 watts may be a little bright, unless you keep very high lighting demanding corals, and I wouldn't recommend those in a small tank as your a beginner, Im not sure about the quality of the middle link, the top link at 12 watts is not enough IMO, id try to get around 30ish watts of t5s if you want those over the tank and up the amount of live rock from 3 to around 12 pounds too, otherwise good luck, and its just my view, others may think otherwise and a warm welcome to the site.

Kind Regards

You're also going to need more live rock. :)

When choosing lighting, you need to know what will be lit. If you're doing fish only, or even low-light corals, you won't need anywhere nears as bright, or expensive, a light as you would for high-light corals.

Pick up a 24" light. it might hang a little over but it is a pretty universal size, easier to find and will serve you well when you upgrade. because lets face it. we all upgrade.
