Detritus help....

So I have found that most of my detritus build up is in the sand bed. I was wondering what my best bet was for decreasing this problem. Should I just beef up the snails in the sand bed?

How much flow is in your tank?

well it's one MP40 on a 120g but it's all open. I used some aquascape cement and there was no stacking, the rock is in the middle and not against the glass. I will eventually grab another MP40 or maybe MP60. Do you think flow is the problem?

Sounds like you do not have enough flow in your tank. With the proper amount of flow and a proper flow pattern, your detritus sound stay suspended in the water column until it makes its way to the overflow box.
