This morning my snowflake Eel got itself through a small hole in the back were we keep out input filtration. We got it about 2 days ago and like always when you get new fishes there nervous and in stress. My Eel was flying everywhere and digging holes in the sand. So this morning since i was all excited about the eel i checked the tank and i found NOTHING then i moved the table and there it was just lying there not moving but just twitching its tail. I quickly with a net picked it up and placed it in the tank. Slowly in about half an hour luckily i could see it breathing again. which made me happy, but now its not eating or moving just sitting in the tank 24/7 moving just about an inch every hour....i even tried hand feeding it silver strides but it just backs away like its scared. When i put my hand in the tank its not even giving me any aggression signs. Please help or give an ideas that i can do to make it feel better.

Leave the light off and leave it alone for a while, when it's stressed it isn't going to feel like eating. With out of the water situations, it may or may not make it, but you need a secure lid for an eel or it will do it again.

Mine snowflake jump out one time and was found underneath the tank, I figured he must have been out for about 6-8 hours, when found he was like leather. Put him back in the tank he began breathing again. He would not eat for a out 3 weeks.
Eels can go months without eating, my snowflake went a month an a half before without food and I have had him for a out 8 years now, he is a out 33 inches long and about almost 4 inches tall.
Give him a few more days, try something, if he doesn't take it, try in a couple more days.

Ok thanks guys, so basically you guys want me to wait for a couple of days until it gets used to the tank and out of stress.
