So I'm planning on starting a small low tech soft coral reef tank using a 29 gallon tank I have. I'm really not sure what kind of lighting I should get as don't have much experience with MH and I really haven't bought into the LED crazy as of yet but this is what I was considering

If it's only going to be soft coral then I wouldn't get anything too expensive. Power compacts or T5s would be a good choice and with T5s you could always expand your coral collection and so some LPS.

So you think a 2 bulb 24 inch T5 fixture will be enough?
