it sais it on the box, but at different salinity ...

for example I THINK a bucket of RC makes 200 gallons of salt water at SG of 33 PPT.

since you want 35PPPT, expect the bucket to make less than 200 G,

For Reef Crystals,
Acquire 48 gallons of pure source water.

Slowly add 24 cups of salt while it's being circulated using a pump or mechanical mixer.
Or better yet, make it in batches of a few gallons at a time over the period of a couple days while it continually mixes.

Wait a few hours then add a heater to bring it up to temp, then test SG using a floating hydrometer or refractometer (ideally).

If you need it higher, add salt in 1/2 cup increments and allow to mix before retesting. If it's too high, add fresh water and allow to mix then retest.

As a general rule, I would expect to use about 53-55 1/2 cup measures of my salt mix (reef Crystals) to reach 1.027 in 48 gallons of water.

the reason I am asking is I use reef crystal and I am building a water change station. I just dump in a bag labeled for 50 gallons but use 48 for 1.026. i was wondering what brands other people were using in how many gallons to get to 1.026...the SG I assume most people are at.

generally it's 1/2 cup a gallon for every salt mix brand I've ever used, which gives you 1.024: scrape the top of the 1/2 cup measure with a ruler to level it. Then it will be a simple repeatable measure to get your final mix up a tad to 1.026.
