A buddy of mine is selling his 75 gallon aquarium. From what I can tell, it looks to be in immaculate condition. He's guaranteeing it not to leak (money back)

Is there anything out of the norm that I should be looking for? I haven't noticed any scratches in the silicon. Is there anything done with lizards, like medicine or anything, that would prevent me from wanting to use it for a reef tank?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

aquarium or terrarium originally? What's the thickness of the glass?

It's a regular Oceanic aquarium.

If it was originally made for aquariums it should not be an issue. I would check the seams if its a glass tank though.

I have always been told not to use aquariums that were used for terrestrial animals. The reason being that their urine eats away at the silicone and can cause failures.

Check the seams CLOSELY.

I've heard the same thing about the urine and the heat lamps baking and weakening the silicone seams.
