for a little over a year now it has been impossible for me to keep Peppermint Shrimp or Emerald Crabs. I should have figured this out a while ago but it has been at least 18 months since I have added any LR or coral bases large enough to house any type of hitchhiker.

To my shock and horror, my daughter spotted a mantis shrimp in my display! It was just about the size of my Fire Shrimp and like all Mantis Shrimp, was becoming more and more aggressive. I can't believe I had not spotted in all this time.

It took 3 weeks, 4 failed traps and 2 hours to get him to go into the net once I had him cornered in his vacation home in the front of the tank.

He is now living in my hospital-tank-turned-Mantis-tank. I am actually looking forward to his growth now...........

I will post some pics if anybody is interested.

hope the hospital/mantis tank isn't made of glass. they've been known to crack glass with their "hammer-time" claws lol

pics would be awesome though :D

don't want any emerald crabs anyways. I had two different ones munch on SPS :/

win for the mantis!
