What size PVC

I'm starting to put everything together for my mantis tank and wanted to get started on a PVC pipe home for it. What size PVC should I use?

I'm not sure what species I'll get at this point because of availability so I'd like to just get something that could work for different size mantis. Thanks for the help

roy has posted before on this, but i can't quite remember what he said. i think it was to choose a diameter of PVC which is twice the thickness of the mantis shrimp's thickness.

So a 2" pipe wouldn't be too big for a smaller shrimp and can accommodate most of it's growth?
