I have had my clownfish since 07 they were my 1st 2 fish.Well ine has been missing for about a week or 2.It started out with one moving the other side of my 430 gallon tank for a couple of hours then back together. Both of them were eating fine then the next day one was missing.I look to see if he was on the other side of the tank again and he wasn't there. So my question can I mate my clownfish with another marron clownfish? If so how should I do it?Should it be bigger or smaller?

Did you check the sump and your overflow? Which one is missing the Female (large one) or Male (small one)?

Yes it's possible. Start with the smallest maroon you can find, place him in a specimen container or some other clear perforated container so the female can see him. I recommend keeping him there for a week or atleast until your female does not show any outward signs of agression. Then release and pray. If not accepted start over, either more time in container or with a new clown. On a side note female maroons can be kinda picky, not all small males are always accepted.

Around 3 inches

3" is a hard number to determine male/female, it can be either; if it's like 4-5" then it's a sure bet.

Try to get one that is 1" , you should pair them off no problem
