View Full Version : I think my coral are dying...HELP

I got an orange digi from a guy a couple of months ago, he had it just wedge in between some rock. It hadn't stated to encrust yet and the bottom that had been wedged was all white. I monted in onto some rock. Since the then white part has turned grey and getting purple coraline growing on it. It also seems to be moving up the digi. The same thing is starting to happen to a birds nest I got a while back. can anyone tell me whats going on. I know my flow is a little low only about 20x. Planning to add 2 more powerheads to increase flow up to about 40x. Do you think this may be the problem (low flow) or something else. I'm running 2 250 10k icecap bulbs (9" off water) on a pfo ballast, phosban reactor with gfo, Octopus 800 skimmer, 20 gallon sump and 20 gallon fuge. I dose everyday with 15 ml each of Seachem 2 part. Here is my most recent parameters

Hello,
how is the flow through and around the said coral and birdsnest ? they tend to block flow within themselves and not get enough flow and die inside out ... you may have to ramp up the flow a bit/

good luck :) parameters look fine, so a smaller water change would help with what ever the Issue is (if chemical ) when I have no explanation, I do a small water change to reduce what ever is causing ISsue .. just a precaution :)

I think it may be a flow issue, but wonder if could be something else

I've added 2 K4s and with the 2 evo 750s, I have 3900gph flow. I think I have plenty of flow now, been running for a week so let see

Cut off the bottom were it was white as it was dead,and re glue frag.
