i just bought an AquaMAXX from Marine Depot capable of up to 200 gallons for my 125 and I could not be happier. The things pulls out tons of crude.

The vertex in 180, The Sro 2000 int and the octo XS 200 would all be good bang for your buck units. The atb 840 would be an awesome fit. but the others would be good for your money.

SRO xp 2000 SSS would work great!

how many gallons will your system be all together. Your skimmer rating should take your system in to account not just display.IMO

For instance im setting up a 125 display but will have 200 gallons of sump refugium and frag tanks incorporated in system too.

Your sump does not add bioload to your tank.

You size a skimmer by how much you feed since you are trying to remove the waste from that. The easiest way is to only include the display.

Generally skimmers ratings are over rated, especially in the past but recently with some of the better pumps the manufacturers are putting real numbers down.

The bubble blaster pump on the RO is better then the sicce pump used on the SWC.

Both are great skimmers and both would work great.

Very well stated, couldn't have said it better myself! Pretty much sums it up.

I agree with n8rad. Those Deltec simmers can really pull. But, to the OP, AquaMaXX skimmer also pull out some real crude.

swc is coming out with a new line of cones. I think the Extreme 230 would be perfect. It uses an askoll.
