Keep in mind that Eheim doesn't talk to end users, you have to go through a dealer.

yeah, I found that same page and posted a request to answer but it came back as undeliverd, probably because like you say they don't want to talk to just any joe schmo, which is why i was hoping for teh number or soemthing to a Jeager rep.
I'm interested in why on the eheim jeager heaters it has a maximum fill line on the heater and the directions are very explicit not to put it in the tank beyond that line, yet the sticker on the box says fully submersible.
I want to know why

All heaters that say fully submersible are safer if the seal stays out of the water.
If anything is going to fail and cause problems it is the seal. (short of breaking the glass of course)
I've heard in the past that water line mark and statement was to get the unit UL listed.
