its about a month old. Just fish and live rock. I am running a sump with live rock, and I am also running a canister filter with carbon only. I am running two 250 m/h and t5 for contrast

thats normal cause your tank just cycled, you have a source of nutrients coming from somewhere your gonna have to check out the phosphate and nitrate levels in your tank...did you use tap water?

Yes i used tap water thats all we have here in the country. Guess i could have used river water LOL. I am looking for a RO unit to put it my house. Nitrates are good not sure about phosphates.
You're going to have troubles until you get a ro/di unit. For right now, if it goes away overnight and reappears during the day, it's cyanobacteria. Poke the blue number under my avatar and look for a post about algae and that will tell you a lot about how to fight various things including cyano.
