I've always dislike the fact that in the case of an alarm, I would have to pop open my laptop, and open up a browser or Aquanotes to see what was wrong. Sometimes, precious minutes can slip by when something really serious is going on. I know you can navigate the AC3 unit menu buttons to get where you want to but that can be a real pain in the but. Enter the Pandigital Novel e-reader. It's a small color e-reader with a wi-fi web browser. At $150, the price was right and this thing is doing exactly what I wanted it to. It gives me an always ready touch screen controller/display for my AC3. Check it out and tell me what you think. Pictures are small and I'll get some better ones up tomorrow.

Great idea on the e-reader.

I see you have gone to great trouble to mount your AC3controller, ecotech, and power strips... with your controller accessible via the e-reader any thought to putting all that stuff under the stand and just controlling via the e-reader?

Not knocking your setup... very clean and well done.

That's pretty awesome. Which model is that? What size screen?

If I had money to burn, I'd put an iPad on the wall next to my tank. Maybe when the price of tablets come down...

It's the pandigital Novel 7in color e-readed. This is the black one from Best Buy. $149 was the price. You can even update it to a full Android device with a simple download. Then you can load Android apps like the AC3/Apex app. I can even bookmark some Reefcentral threads for access via the reader.

I'm a real tech-nerd so I like that stuff out in the open. It does give me more at-a-glance instant control over everything.
