I know the question of "can my floors support this big tank" come up on here a bit. I also understand that it is hard to give a cut and dry answer as every scenario is different.

A bit of background. I am in the process of setting up my basement sump that will run 3 display tanks upstairs. Today I was drilling holes in my floor for my drains and returns. I discovered that my floor is 2 1/4" thick.

My main question with this post is to find out if a floor that thick would help disperse the weight of a tank? In other words would I be able to put a bit bigger of a tank than I orginally planned for? As I dont want to go over board I was planning on my big tank to be around a 120-150 but after discovering my thick floors I may do a 180-200.
