Need advice on sand sand in large sump...yes or no

Hello, I am working on a 150 gallon display tank with a 150 gallon rubbermaid sump.

If live sand is excellent filtration in the display....is it excellent filtration in the sump as well....more sand, more bacteria.......

is this a good idea to have a sand bed covering the sump bottom?

That is called a remote deep sand bed or RDSB. Most people say that is the best way to have a deep sand bed and that it provides a ton of filter. Just make sure to read up on it first as there is a lot involved.
