My sump tank started leaking on Monday night and I'm wondering if it's worth it to try and reseal it. I know that I would have to use RTV 108 which I believe is industrial strength silicone. How hard is it to reseal a tank? Should I just buy a replacement instead? What are the chances of it leaking again?

depends on size- if its under 30 gallons- I would just buy another tank. To do it you need to clean tank- scrape out all the old silicone-clean tank again ( i generally will use acetone where the old silicone was)then reseal using continuous beads- no starting and stopping. Its not too difficult if you are good with a caulk gun- and do your surface prep well. But to me the job is not worth the money for a small tank.
