I'm hoping to get some input from those who have remote fish rooms... I'm thinking about moving my aquarium to the basement when I finish it but dont want to give up my fish room and go back to stooping under my stand to clean the sump etc.
So my question is can I run pipes in wall over distance? Does the pipe have to drop at a certain slope like other plumbing (1/4" per ft I think)? I was thinking of running a 2" drain and a 1" return but didn't know if this would work say running them say 35 ft to unfinished basement...

Thoughts?
Thanks.

You can run the plumbing wherever you want so long as you have a good return pump that is rated for that head pressure. Most pumps will tell you how far they can pump vertical. Lot's of folks have plumbing run to their basements. I just went to my coat closet with everything and ran my return pump under the house. It was pretty easy. I am not sure about specific angles but I made all right angle and have had no issues.
