Zoo Med has entered the T5 market, great prices and available on amazon for free shipping. Anyone heard anything on these bulbs?

I'm mulling about trying 2 - 6500k's and 2-420 actinics.

You may get a better response if you post your question in the Lighting forum.

I have and like always it gets ignored there. Anything I post in the lighting and filtration forum has never been beneficial to me. I honestly stay in the new to the hobby forum because I've found it's the most responsive, nicest and best people on RC.

I have and do use them for my plant tanks as well as my reef. I think they are decent. They aren't ATI or Giesemanns but they are not bad for the price. The color on the actinics is very deep blue, I think you will enjoy them. I would use the 10,000 k Ocean Suns over the 6500 k though, but that's just preference. The tank will be a nice combo of white and blue and your colors will pop nicely.

Boy I just seen the actinics and those are deeper darker than any other bulb I've seen including UVL, ATI and Geiseman. I'm quite impressed by the depth of the actinic. The 6500k's do have a pure bleach white look about them until they go over water then it's a yellowish tint for sure. Thanks for your feedback 89foxbody. I might stay with these bulbs since I can get them cheap and via places like amazon for free shipping and since I trade them out every 9 months anyway, not a big deal on their longevity.

I picked up 4 of these at the end of last year do to the good price point. I plan to give them a shot soon. 2 x actinics & 2 x 10,000 k. Fingers crossed :)
