What is good lighting for a 20 gallon high tank? It came with a hood that was 2 13w straight pin lights. I don't think that is enough a FOWLR tank. I don't think that t5 or florescent lights fit in the hood, only compact florescent. The hood can only fit the 12" straight pin lights. What lights do you recommend?

there really is no demand for high light output with a fowlr tank.
(this is from the information i have gathered)

That will be fine. Coraline does not require much light, just sufficient calc, alk, and mag. I've heard they prefer actinic light, but have not experienced that myself. I actually have coraline that grows on the underside of rocks. HTH.

i think kent marine has something that speeds up the coraline algea process or you can try what i did and get a friend who has an established tank and steal some of there's off a rock.

an as for the lighting birdman1979 is right,my first tank had one florscent bulb used for plant only tanks and the coraline grew still.
