I've got an 120 Oceanic Tech (4'x2'x2') with a center overflow and I'm running 4 Koralia 1400's on alternate timers. Mixed reef tank with a H. Magnifica. I have a lot of LR ... around 180 lbs.

From researching, my take is that 2 MP40's on opposite sides of the tank would be the recommendation. My tank is very viewable from both sides - the one side is the first view of the tank everybody sees as they walk in. I would really hate the throw a pump on either end.

Will 2 MP40's on the back wall on either side of the overflow be as effective? My mag loves good and random flow ... would this config provide that?

Thanks!

I'd place one MP40w on each side of the tank. This is the standard recommendation for a 120gal.

However, in your case you could also go with both pumps on the back wall, you would just lose the ability to have circular flow patterns but it would still provide good random flow.
