I brought home a few chromis today. Around here they are usually green or blue. This one is a bit different. It has a green body, blue tail and yellow top fin. I have looked around but haven't seen anything on line that looks like it. Does anyone know what kind it might be?

Are you sure it isn't a damsel?

Well, it's body shape looks just like the chromis, the only difference is where the tail would be green it is blue and the top fin is a sort of transparent yellow at the base and bright yellow at the tips. It was the head of the chromis school in the fish store. I tried to get pics, all you can tell in them is that it is a fish. The colors just don't show up. very well.

The allen's looked a lot darker blue than this fish. All of the colors are soft, except the yellow on the tips of the top fin.

Yeah, guess I should kinda correct my comment, since chromis is a damsel I just assume you got a damsel that was in chromis tank.
The allens are damsels, not chromis.
Probably best to see a pic.

I wish the pic of the younger fish was bigger but that is pretty close. Mine is a bit more green and a bit less yellow but that might be because it is very young. Thanks! Sorry about the lack of pics. I guess I need to buy a new camera. I am really hoping this is wrong though. I have a 40 gallon tank, a 7" long adult is a bit big...
