I bought my first Anemone this morning, a GBT.
I "attached" it to the bottom corner, but it's since made it's way up the side of the tank and seems happy next to the PH for the last 5-6 hours.

I've seen a few threads about Anemones and PH not being a great mix...
Is it too close? Should I move it maybe?

I know it'll kind of go wherever it chooses, right? But what if it ends up in an area where you're not real happy with? Sounds selfish, but I'd like to see it, you know?

Also, the 2 clowns I have are tank-bred locally, and I'm wondering if they'll even host.
I've seen some things that say if they've never seen another fish do it, they wouldn't have learned how to.

Thanks.

Yes, I would move that ASAP. Don't go to bed tonight without doing so or you'll likely wake up to a shredded anemone.

Really?
Just put it back down at the bottom somewhere?

Just put in on the rocks. Anywhere but the power head.
The foot is inflated, that means it's on the move and easy to peel off.

Put it near a spot where two rocks come together and make a little crevace that's where they like their foot. I would put it towards the bottom and should it want it will climb for more light.

I just went back and checked on it, it was on the move...
It was like dangling from the base of the PH.

I put it on a rock, and it grabbed right away.
You just have to watch it for a few days or so until it's found residency?

My Pink Spotted Goby is not happy it's near his favorite "sitting rock"
I like where it's at now, if only it'd stay.

One other thing.
The GBT shouldn't harm any of the fish in the tank, right?
I've got a Yellow Tang, 2 Clowns, Pink Spotted Goby, Foxface Rabbit.

I saw the Cleaner Shrimp going up to it, getting a better look, but then he moved away.

BTAs are about as fish-safe as you're going to get with a hosting anemone species. It's very unlikely you will have any problems with the anemone harming your fish.

You are lucky you moved your anemone before it became BTA puree. You need to cover the powerhead intake witha sponge filter, otherwise you will eventually be the owner of anemone soup.

Kevin

Could you help me out on where exactly the intake is?
I probably should know, but I just plugged them in and they worked, end of research...

This whole area is flat with just the red knob, no area to sponge

Is it this whole section?

If so, the sponge doesn't affect anything?

This is like an all day babysitting, lol.
Now it's moved from the rock above to the top of the rocks and is getting towards I'm concerned it's too close to these brown polyps I have on a rock.

Will it just go right over the polyps if it wants, killing it?

Just moseying across the rocks...

I just went to check on it again, and of course it's got the fleshy "Leg" part completely engulfing a small nano PH.
I took it off, put it down on a rock.

This thing is going back to the LFS tomorrow...

Point the powerheads a little more towards it since it seems to want more current and put it back on the rocks. Also put a couple layers of screen between your lights and the top of the tank to acclimate it to your lights could be why its moving along with the flow issue. If you have it you can also cut the footing off of a pair of pantyhose and strecth it over your power heads and secure it with a rubber band to keep from getting anemone soup.
