Hello! I normally have 1000gal of NSW delivered to our house. the one that i got last week has parameters shown below.

PH 7.8
Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 0ppm
Salinity 1.025
Phosphate <.3ppm (api test kit)
Alk 7.5dkh

I find PH to be too low as i keep mine now at 8.3-8.4. I would like increase PH of the NSW to that of my tank parameters. how to do without raising Alk too much using sodium bicarbonate?

I also find phosphate to be a problem with the NSW. what can i do to lower it?

I will need to do my weekly water change soon.
thank you for comments and suggestions.

Provided the alk level is within the recommended guidelines which your alk level is, the CO2 content of the water is what is causing your low pH in the delivered water. Vigorously aerating this water can help expel excess CO2 and raise the pH if the air around the tank is at normal CO2 levels. The air inside houses can be quite a bit higher in CO2 content.

As long as you do less than 30% water changes, the pH of the delivered water should not be a problem and will equalize within the DT tank quickly. I would not worry about the pH of your delivered water. ;)

You have stated Phosphate <.3ppm (api test kit). Did you mean your phosphate level is less than 0.03 ppm?
