I am spraying my acyrlic overflow box with black krylon fusion flat spray.

How long should I wait till I can immerse it in saltwater and start using it?
thx

I've not used it in saltwater, but I did use it in a few freshwater tanks. I always let it sit for 24 hrs before putting it into a tank. I never had problems with it.

IMO, it is not a good idea to put painted things in your tank. It will eventually break down and it won't be good for your inhabitants. LEave it natural. In a matter of months it will be covered in coraline and you won't notice it anymore.

+1 on that. I haven't had much success with Krylon fusion in other uses, so I would never use it in a tank, especially if the piece was to be submerged. And once it's there, it would preclude you from scraping (or, from my experience, even touching) the painted surface. Sounds like a nightmare.

If the item being painted is sanded and completely cleaned of any organic matter Krylon Fusion is perfectly safe to use. (if any organic matter is present the paint will flake off)
24 hours would be ideal as a cure time but once it is completely dry and no fumes are present (as little as two hours in direct sunlight) it can go in the tank.
