Can anyone help me ID this little fish swimming with his Man o' War buddy? Taken this morning in my backyard canal in Tavernier, FL. (Florida Keys)

I hope the pic is big enough...

Only a guess but that may be a Flying Gurnard fry. Basically one species in the Caribbean/Atlantic. Beautiful when an adult, been around a few in Jamaica diving. Bottom dwelling gliders.

Am I the only one that wants a tank for Man-o-war?

It's also possible that it's a Nomeus gronovii a.k.a. man o war fish. There was a post on here about them last week.

Man 'o wars are so beautiful! They are floating in the backyard all day long... I could sit and watch them drift along for hours.

Looks most like a Flying Gurnard aka Sea Robin, dragonet family.

Awesome! Thanks for your help everyone!

Nothing better than sticking your nose over the edge of the breakwall to see what kinds of critters you can spot. Going out at night is even better! Last year I had a pair of squid that would come hang out right by the boat every night and watched a pair of horseshoe crabs (bigger than dinner plates) mating.

Vacations are too short... I gotta permanently move down here!

looking closer the other posters are probably right that it is a Man-o-War fish. Too bad you don't have a side shot of the fish:)
