View Full Version : Bubble Algae...Bad???

I have a 75G tank and i just started to notice bubble algae on my rocks they look small individual anemone tentacles...but red...they are starting to grow on some of my live rock...is this bad or good...and if its bad how do i get rid of them?

I ask because bubble algae does not have tentacles.
Bubble algae is a nuissance, but not really harmful, emerald crabs may take care of that.
Aptasia is another story, can sting, a little more difficult to rid.
Maybe post a pic or google the two for ID.

I agree sounds more like aptasia, bubble algae is usually round and green. Some have had success getting rid of them with peppermint shrimp and copperbandded butterfly fish.
