OK guys, I have a 144 half circle aquarium that's fish only right now. I'm selling most of my other tanks and switching the 144 to mixed reef (definitely will have some SPS). This will be my reef show tank. Dimensions are 57.5 x 29 x 29. How would you light this aquarium? Thanks in advance

Its personal preference, some people like MH, some like T5. I like MH with either PC or T5's for actinic supplementation. But you will have to worry about heat and evaporation with that.

LED's sound great, but out of my price range right now. If I was to go with halides, what do you think? Two 450's watts maybe?

So if I'm going to go with halides, what do you think, two 250watts or 2 450watts?

I was just doing some research on T5's. Do you think two of the nova extreme 6 bulb fixtures would be good (for a total of 12 bulbs)? They are 6 x 18w T5 HO. The opening across the tank is 20 x 16 on each side of the cross bar, so this really is all I can fit.
