sorry to hear that. thats why i moved the eels home to the far side of the tank. i have read alot. and no matter what people do eels will find a way.

he is awesome to watch him eat a silverside off the tongs. same with the wolf eel. both are amussing to watch. the only thing i dont like is that i have to spot feed them lol but that is something that makes this hobby this hobby

Awesome collection of fuzzies! How hard was the ghost ribbon to ween onto frozen foods?

Not to bad. I just put a silver side in front of his face for about 2 months until he took it. I fed him gut loaded ghost shrimp until he took the silverside

like other people have said we woudl redomend an easier eel. IMO white is easy. but im used to weaning my fish as you can see from what i have. i have weaned them all from live. get the easy stuff first then graduate to the harder stuff

i have learned to wait till the fish have been at the store for at least 3-4 weeks. the store buy by me puts the date they got the fish on the glass so people can see. that really helps me pck out fish.

Very nice tanks, fish and especially the eels. I just set up a pred tank and an eel is #2 on the list, after the lion fish that went in on Tuesday. So, its time to start the process of looking.

Thanks. Eels really are a treat to own. They are fun to watch eat and move. It's facinating

So what would be the best recommendation of covering the tank to prevent escape, egg crate, glass top?

Tanks and fish look good, but just wondering why you have the heaters so high? Heat rises, and if the water level gets low they could crack. I'd put them at the bottom, both brands look fully submersible.

on he 46 i have it thier because the skimmer return is their, so all the water that goes through the skimmer has to pass it.this one is fully submerged

on the 30 thats the only place i can fit it.(limited space. thats why upgrading)
also that one is not fully submersible

good question
