I have a 29 gallon bc with the 150 watt current sunpod. A mix or soft sps and lps. Im gonna put most of the softies elsewhere and switch to mostly spa with few los. Wil that light be good or should I switch to my hamilton reefstar 400 watt? Thanks also what would the largest spa tank a single 400 watt halide could do?

No you will be fine with the 150w MH. I had a 29g in my early days with with a 150w over it and sps. Just keep the sps mid to high. A 400w will be way to much for a 29g. I run a 250w over my 40B and I keep almost all sps.
