Hello,
I am about to place an order and I want to get your recommendation on a 48x24x24 tank. I would like enough lighting to support SPS and nems. Would the 48 bulb kit with 80 degree optics be enough? I was thinking of using two of your pre drilled 24" long sinks, one on each side. Thanks

I'll let someone knowledgable reply, but in my looking at upgrading my 60 cube to a standard 120 like yours, with a full mixed reef (clams & nems too), I was looking at 72 LED.
Optics all depend on your layout and how high above the water line you can get the fixture hung.

Found a thread looks like they recommend 60-72 leds for a 120.

For a tank that size I think 60-72 is a good range (it'll depend somewhat on which LEDs you use). If you're using the 23" heatsinks then you'll probably want to go with 60 degree optics to try and avoid too much light spillage out of the sides of the tank. Though JefF4y is correct, it depends on how high above the water the lights will be hung. If it's between 6-12" I'd go with the 60's.
