there is an antennata lionfish at the LFS, 6" pectoral fin span and about 4" long. i was curious if it can be in a 55g. i know these are mid bodied lions and not dwarfs but this guy is awesome so i thought i would ask.

how big will he get full grown?

Plan on the fish doubling in size, so expect it to become an 8" fish or thereabouts. You could keep it in a 55 gal pretty nicely.

wait so i can house him!?!?! WOOOOOT! so, should i get a fuzzy dwarf or this antennata? im a lil worried about how much room he could take up, with his fins flared out, should i worried? and is it ~8" with the fins flared or is that length or what?

It's a matter of aquascaping and tankmates...the tank will be too small if you pack it with rockwork that takes up much of the front-to-back space and/or is too tall across the tank (this is true of any lionfish setup). Also, remember that you'll need to choose tankmates/bioload accordingly.

They're neat fish I would get him and change your rock work to around for him.
