I am planning to setup a 40 gallon breeder tank. Would a tek 24 inch 4 bulb fixture be good for me? I plan to make this take zoas, mushrooms few lps, a clam and possibly an anenome?

Yes it would work, it would be a little dimmer on the edges. 6 bulbs would give you more color options though.
