Ive been using two koralia 1050's alternating on my rkl. the tank demensions are 24x24x20 (cadlights cube). my return pump is a shitty rio 2100. i want to upgrade my return to a mag 9.5 but dont want to blow my sump away.

my main issue is if both koralias are on at the same time there is a huge sand storm. should i just add another smaller, say koralia 750, and just run it on constant?

try pointing the Ks upwards towards the surface to reduce sand storm.

i prefer random and turbulent for flow;therefore, if i were you, yes on adding a 750.
maybe take some sand out? If you have a refugium running in a cadlights sump, a smaller pump will be better.

ive already moved them low but the mounts only let them point so far upward. they barely make a 45 degree. what would a good return pump size be?

I have 2 750 evos and 2 mp10 at full blast aimed towards the middle above the corals with a 1" sand bed. no sandstorms for me.
A pump with a minimum gph of around 600 should be sufficient. I find my chaeto grows nicely

Is this the same as my crappy Rio just a different model?

No koralia evos run a dc current so they o not run in reverse on start up

I know this is a couple months old but....

The Koralia Evo's are not DC powered pumps. They are the new verion of the origional AC powered K1-K4 pumps. The DC pumps are just DC versions of these pumps.
