I have a 92 gallon fish tank. It is a FOWLR, right now I only have a Stars and Stripes puffer (about 6 inches). after researching it, this seems to be the only Star fish I can keep with a predator tank. I put him in tonight and my puffer started nipping at him. He won't leave the star fish only. I removed the star fish after 10 mins, and put him in the sump for the night. Is my puffer just curious, or is he trying to eat it? I was told the puffer won't eat him due to the star fishes hard outside. The puffer messed with the urchin I got for about 5 mins, and hasn't paid it any attention since.

Sorry, this seems like a stupid question....but I have never delt with star fish before.

Puffers eat stars. Even if he fails to eat it , he could stress it to death.

Thanks, taking it back to the LFS. Going to trade him for another urchin.
