MH to close?

What i have: 2) 250 w Icecap ballast(new gen), 2) Lumenarc mini reflectors, 2) 250 w 14k Aquamaxx bulbs.

Problem: Canopy is 8'', reflectors are 5'' will this be to close?

If the canopy is sealed and there is a glass lens between the water and lights, proper ventilation will remove any heat.
In my avatar you will see my fixture rests on the tank and the bulbs are only 5-6" from the water (3X250 + 4X96 PC) and there is zero heat transfer.

is the glass lens sitting on top of your aquarium? or on the reflector bottom? also where did you get the glass?

No the wooden frame is resting on the tank.
The glass is about 1-1/2" inside the wood.
Any local glass shop will cut the glass to whatever size you need.
