Here is my new addition to the tank. Blue spot urchin from Divers Den, Live aquaria. Amazing coloration, and hes always out. Not the best pic, hes right on the glass, so had to get a side shot. I can get a better one later. Had him since friday, so far so good. Let me know what you think...

A better pic. I dont know much about this one either. Hope he lives, he is cruising my tank pretty well, and I think they eat algae..time will tell. Anyone else has info on these guys, let me know.

I have one myself, very active during the day, which is notable about the species. Most urchins are nocturnal. They are reputed to be venomous, but I haven't found any literature that details the venom, if any. I have handled it in my hand without issue. They are herbivores, but they like a bit of meat as well. I give mine a piece of krill/shrimp about once a week. My urchin readily will crawl onto the piece of meat in seconds. Mine has also taken to climbing atop the rock I rubberband nori to feed my tangs/rabbitfish, which greatly annoys the tangs.
