Do most people dose for alkalinity? Is low alkalinity a reason I could get an outbreak in dark algae?
I don't have my parameters handy right now, but in general, are most people dosing to increase their alkalinity or maintain alkalinity?
Currently I've got a 30 gallon, with 3 fish and a pistol shrimp. About 30-40 lbs of live rock. about 5 Soft corals. And clean up crew.
I do have a test strip type test kit.
HOB filter, 250W metal halide DE 20K lighting, 2 flow pumps, and a heater.
Water temp about 78°
salt level at 1.024-1.025
