I caught the little lionfish in Key West in about 6 feet of water. He was in a crack in a rock. I did not even need a net, he rode in my hands for quite a distance.

The Cane Toad was caught in Miami and was a real hoot. He would just sit there like that for minutes at a time. He was a pretty good sized toad, use the ruler for scale.

The Northern curly tailed lizard was caught in West Palm Beach and would even sit on my shoulder. These are an introduced species that is found throughout southern Florida. Their native range is Cuba to Trinidad.

The Pleco was caught in Miami and was caught by hand.

pretty cool dude. Not sure I'd be hand holding a Lion but more power to you. What's the deal with them down there? I thought I saw something about a initiative to seek and kill any that were found. Is that still going on? Highly unlikely they will even be eliminated though. We can only hope that some balance is struck I guess.

Lionfish aren't native to the Atlantic and are invading, quite successfully, with a huge population explosion. This is causing problems and as such lionfish are actually encouraged to be caught for sale in the trade and I believe to be eaten.

I live in west palm and recognized the back ground of the curly tail lol

We are told to kill them if we see them and by what people say they area good eat too

I'm not sure about the others, considering how close I live to FL, I would assume I'd have heard something about cane toads, the lizard, and plecos being invasive lol.

I do know cane toads are invasive in AU... but that is because they were introduced there and then went crazy.

I have to assume the Pleco was caught in Freshwater? Either that or it's not a Pleco.

Yes, all of the species pictured are invasive to Florida.

That toad shot is fantastic!!
