I'm in the process of changing out my T5 bulbs and today I decided it was time for my UVL 75/25. I'm running a 4x39w retro so when I remove the endcaps they definitely have a snug fit on the bulbs. However, when I went to put the endcap on the new bulb there was a gap. A crude measurement said the gap was probably around 1/16th". The rubber gasket doesn't even contact the bulb. Has anyone had this experience before?

my uvl have been this way for a couple years. i havent had any problems and my setup is a open retro in a hood. no saltcreep or anything. i use a sea swirl on one side of my tank and it makes some splashing when it crosses a korilia evolution

I wounder if you could put a wrap of Teflon tape around it to fill it in

I was toying around with a couple options for fillers including that but of course I ran out of tape after the first end. Looks like it might work. I just think it's odd that the bulb is so much thinner than the old one.
