Problem with MP40 not changing speeds regardless of mode

I just noticed my mp40 will not change speeds while in reefcrest or lagoon mode. I've had it for over two years. It will go into feeding mode fine. I also noticed it is not going into battery back up mode using the icecap battery. If I pull the main power, the unit just turns off. It works the same whether the backup batter is plugged in or not.

Anything I can do to "reset" or troubleshoot it?

How are you determining whether or not the speed is changing in reefcrest or lagoon?

Thanks for replying. I am sitting next to the pump watching and listening to it. In reef crest especially, I am able to hear the RPMs change when it is in the upper range.
