Does anyone have experience with these? I have always been a little skeptical of them for whatever reason I don't know... as far as their punch and power goes... does anyone have any pics of them over their tanks? Anyone have any experience on how well they perform? Thanks,

I have the 48" 2x250 and love it. I bought it used and just replaced the bulbs with Phoenix 14ks. I dont have any decent pics of them running. Ive had no problems and theyre easy to take apart to replace the bulbs.

I have used it before. It is not a bad set up at all. I agree with Tat2 - replace the stock MH bulbs with another brand. Coralife MH bulbs are junk.

I have a the 2 x 150w Aqualight Pro over my shallow 60g frag tank. It was originally over my 90g reef before I installed AI LED modules.

I agree with the other posters here and say it is a good fixture, just replace the MH bulbs. It has worked great for me, and I feel it is a quality build, as it still looks perfect after years, and seems to be really durable. The moon lights are really bright as well.

Hope this helps,
Landon

Thanks guys... it just seems really expensive for what you are getting... esp. if you need to replace the bulbs right away... :/

Look around here for a used one, as they come up on occasion. I may be selling mine soon.

I had a 36" single 250w unit over a standard 65. It lit the entire tank, and really looked sharp. These units are not expensive at all when you consider other similar fixtures. I also loved the moonlights. Not like the whimpy ones you get with the current fixtures. Here's a couple of shots of the 65. I replaced the stock halide with a phoenix 14k.

The moon lights really are bright aren't they? When I had just the MH bulbs on in my fixture, I could turn on the moon lights and you can actually see the difference. At night they would make my corals slightly fluoresce.

Yeah, they are the best moonlights I have seen on a fixture. I believe they were 3/4 watt each. My entire tank was lit when the moonlights came on.

If you're in doubt take a look at the Hamilton Belize fixture. Built like a tank. My choice.:)

I bought the 2x250, swapped the ballast for a galaxy dual ballast, made a separate plug for the fan and put it on my controller, couldn't be happier for the price. The moonlights are really nice.
