View Full Version : life span of a T5 bulb
Hello everyone,
I was wonder how often do you have to change your T5 bulb?
I have been running 6 hours a day for my 250W MH.
I guess I will run 7 hours a day for T5, so base on 7 hours a day, how long would a bulb last before I have to replace it?
thanks,

Usually it is a good idea to replace them every 12 months. Since you aren't running them for that long of a period though you could probably squeeze a few more months out of them however.

Typical replacement is 12 months and people have reported a shorter lifespan when using T5's with a dimmer.

Not cooled, driven to spec: 6 months max
Overdriven and not cooled: 2-3 months if they don't burn out first.
Overdriven and cooled: 6-8 months
Properly cooled and driven to spec: 10-14 months depending on setup.
